Combo Knitting
Hi everyone just watched"Knitty Gritty" the designer used combination knitting...If I do a k st thru the back of st, then wrap my yarn under the needle to do the purl st (I throw). Would these be combo? Thanks Cheley

Oh wait, you're talking about Combo knitting where you use 2 different size needles, one small and one very large? Combination or combined knitting makes regular looking knit, but is done differently.

Hi there, yea I am talking about combined knitting...the designer was Ann, I just didn't catch what she was doin..I think she does her k st in the back of the st, then purls "scooping up" yarn under the right needle..as opposed to "wrapping counterclockwise"..I know (well I was taught) that if a k st is twisted, you can "work" it thru the back of the st (instead of taking the st off and re-positioning it). Can you do this with Rib st or just stockinette? Maybe I need to re-watch the episode???

It's Annie Modesitt, I gave her website up there. Yes, you can do that with ribbing, go look over her explanations - with illustrations.

Naaa, I just call myself a heretic cause I don't generally follow the accepted knitting `guidelines' all the time.
