Button Holes
I have been knitting for many years. I recently started doing something new. I started making buttonholes on my sewing machine for all my sweaters I make. I find that the button holes stay nice and actually make the sweater lay better.

I put a banding that matches the color of the sweater behind the side where I make the buttonhole. I then make the button hole on the banding.

People who look at my sweaters can't believe I made it.

Has anyone tried this before.

Sue

I'm so lousy with a sewing machine, that I'd probably destroy all my hard work. Doing it that way, though, sounds like it would make a very professional finish.
