If you go to the top of the main page, and point your cursor on the word Home, you will get a drop down menu. The first selection is Getting Started. I believe that what you are looking for is in that section. Good luck!

Hi and welcome!

I'm not sure what you mean by principles of knitting. Are you wondering how to knit? If so you've come to the right place! There are lots of videos on how to knit at the link at the top of the page. Here's the link for now -
http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/learn-to-knit

If you need more help in addition to the videos here are a few more links.

http://www.knitpicks.com/Content/index.php

And as always you can always ask more questions here in KH.

The Wikipedia article on Knitting would be a good place to begin.

Here's a link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knitting

For more sources, there are several references at the bottom of the Wikipedia page.

Good luck!

I'm a little confused, do you mean principles as in "the basics of, the foundation of, what i need to be proficient in before i am pro" or principles like... an ethical or philosophical famework/ outlook as in "knitters have endurance and patience and are giving and sharing"?

hmm the philosophical frame work of knitting...

"To frog, or not to frog, that is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slip stitches and twists of outrageous fortune,
Or to frog out that sea of mistaken stitches,
And by opposing end them? To sleep: to find peace!

Darn it girl, you are good. That is fantastic the way you did that with that poem.
