Touque
Does anybody know of a pattern for a really long hat for a kid? What I am basically wanting is a pattern for a touque that goes really long so he can wrap it around asa scarf. If any one knowsof one I would appreciate it. I checked knitting pattern central and did not see one.

Here's one pattern you could probably use as a starting point:

Hope that helps. Unfortunately it's all I was able to find.

I searched through all of the hat patterns available on Ravelry and found this one that I thought fit what you were looking for.

I'm glad you asked for a touque pattern rather than just a hat. Show off that Canadian pride!

I've made Hubby a touque just from what we saw on some of his historical seafaring movies.

Lovely red. Just use either a medium-short circular needle. I used sports-weight yarn and size 5 or 4. Then cast on enough stitches to easily fit around the head [can be quite loose-fitting, since the hat is so wonderfully long and roll-up-able] and then... rib your heart out!

Did his for 3'. Then just thread a double-strand of the yarn through all the stitches, pull tight and tie. Add a tassel or a pom-pom and you're good to go!
