I've lived in Syracuse for 36 years now, but I was born & raised in Gouverneur (actually Spragueville, suburb of Gouverneur ) I still have family in Gouverneur, Canton & Malone....
I'm not in NY, nor am I from there, but I WILL be going there in August for the Knit & Crochet Show in August. I'll actually be attending CGOA's Chainlink Conference (Crochet Guild of America).
Since I also knit, I'll be looking around for knitting supplies as well as yarn and crochet stuff.
Are any of you going as well? It's going to be at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Registration forms won't be available until March, though.
I just started knitting living in Upstate NY Albany area!!! if anyone is near me I work at a local library and we have a little knitting club all is welcome!
i'm not too far from you, we have a SNB group that meets friday nights at barnes and noble in niskyuna. they meet wednesday nights at the B&N in colonie center...
The barnes and noble in Niskyuna is in that shopping center at the corner of balltown road and state street (which turns into central ave at the stop light) in the Mohawk Mall. If you take Central Ave (route 5 west) and follow it out you'll see a ford dealership on the right, and you'll pass mcdonalds, dunkin donuts, a mobil gas station, and an army surplus store on the left. the turn you take to get into the Mall is at the next light, you just take a right hand turn and the nearest enterance is on your immediate right (maybe 4 car lengths after the turn). We meet in the starbucks cafe in there.
