i found it!!!
it's the "whale of a tail" hat. here's the pattern, and here's a kit with LL shepherd worsted.

too stinkin' cute!!! Magic Loop is so much easier to me than DPNs. I, too, dragged my feet on trying it. Don't know why in the world I thought it would be more intimidating than DPNs!! LOL Really so much easier!

for me, dpns take a few rows to really solidify a project. (does that make any sense?) ml doesn't seem to take as many. although, i do love both. ml is just cool, and dpns make me feel all smart and special because any non-knitter would think they look extremely complicated.

Hello everyone! The pattern can be bought online from a great Canadian co called Cabin Fever. Thanks for the DPN encouragement. I just bought the book 'Very Easy Circular Knits' it has a great detailed tutorial. I'm going to go home and practice now!
