Good spyware software
Spybot
Ad-ware
I also use 1-click (which I did purchase but was well worth it)

Hope this helps!

To the Spybot and Adaware I'll add AVG. Between those three those of you who insist on using Windows should be pretty well covered.

I have so much antivirus/anti-spyware/etc. on my computer that I'm pretty sure that is why my computer is so slow. I don't have a virus... my antivirus software is just all scanning each other trying to decide whether they are viruses or not. I don't have my school's **required** antivirus because Norton or Spysweeper or both were convinced it was a virus (fortunately my ex-b/f was having the same problem, at the same time, and discovered that "hey, they let us online to download the software... there has to be a way around this").
