In my quest for the perfect bathing suit pattern I have read old blogs of people in the same search....ah, a knitted bikini (or suit)
Where are those people? Anyone actually do it sucessfully? And if so, I demand a picture of proof!
Well, sorry, no pics, and the suit is probably long gone, but when I was in high school (70's) I knit a bikini. The top was two triangles on a string and the bottoms were regular bottoms. It was good except that the bottoms would stretch when wet so I had to be careful getting out of the water. It was made of sport yarn, turquoise and I loved it! Good luck in your quest!

I don't have a problem with authority, I just have a problem with people telling me what to do.
I just looked on Ravelry and there are quite a few patterns and people knitting them. Not near as much as other projects though.
Here's a few of the patterns that I found there.
Queen of Hearts Bikini from Stitch and Bitch Knitter's Handbook
Blue Suede Bikini for Sexy Little Knits
Lanikai Bikini from http://www.knitwhits.com/online_stor...is/lanikai.php
I would knit myself a speedo but I have far too much empathy for my fellow human beings.
LMAO, and I`d pay to see it too! BUT a speedo out of scratchy wool would not go over too well. I have to wonder if the movement of swimming would cause felting... hmmmm (ouch).
