wow, everyone's FO's look great! I love those simple socks, LadyB-what pattern is that, I wouldn't mind having a pair of those

I'd like to join! I have:

a sweater for my 9yr old DS;
an afghan for my very tall hubby,
a traveling vine scarf;
lace scarf I started YEARS ago and didn't get much past row three, lol.

That's all I can think of! oh and a pair of spiral rib handwarmers, spiral rib socks and plain rib handwarmers for my brother (how quickly we forget-LOL!)

Thanks!

The pattern is Simple Socks in Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles by Cat Bordhi.

I worked them on dpns though and did short row heels instead of the heel flap and gusset that the pattern calls for. Also, I worked the heel, sole, and toes in a size smaller needle, which Cat Bordhi recommends on that pattern for added durability.

Thanks for the link! I have considered buying this book, and now there's another one out on the same method. I really should get it

Have you ever used the 2 circs method? I want to try that (and magic loop!) but they both look really complicated! LOL-you'd think anything would look easy after getting the hang of DPN's!

I worked a little on the other handwarmer of the pair for my DSIL, so they are almost done-yah! Then only one more pair to go for my brother, and I think that's it for the gifts I'm knitting. I may make a pair for my sister too, or I may knit her another flower washcloth or two also. But I *really* need to work on my UFO's! Especially the sweater for DS-we hardly get a winter around here anyway so opportunities to wear the silly thing will be limited anyway! I'd better get knitting!

Thanks again LadyB!

I have tried the magic loop method, and REALLY didn't like it. Frankly, that experience, plus the thought of having all those dangly needles, keeps me from trying the 2 circs method. I like dpns, but the thought of them lengthened and flexible (which is how I picture the 2 circs method) is....not enticing.

I hope you get everything you wish to do done.

I prefer using dpns, because it just feels more "historical".
