Legwarmers Pattern?

Okay, it gets pretty cold down where I live so I was wanting to knit some legwarmers. I don't know how to knit on circular needles, so it would have to be on stright needles. Thanks!

And you can also make your own pattern up. Measure your ankle (or bottom part where you want the legwarmer to end) and your thigh (or top part where you want the legwarmer to start) and then measure the distance between the two with your leg slightly bent. Figure out how many stitches per inch you get and how many inches you will need to get those measurements. So (for the sake of easy math ) let's say your top measurement is 20 inches and your bottom measurement is 10 inches and they will need to be 20 inches long. You are getting 4 stitches and 5 rows to the inch. So you need to cast on 80 stitches for the top and decrease to 40 stitches and it needs to be 100 rows long with 40 decreases across those rows. Put in 10 rows top and bottom of some sort of "non-rolling" edging (rib or moss stitch) which means you are going to decrease 1 stitch every other row. You can do this all flat with your decreases going down the center (really cool effect) and then just seam it up the back when you are done.

Although using circs or dpn's are fun!
