Ear Flap Hat with Pom Pom Strings

Happy Holidays!

I am looking to knit a hat (preferably on circular needles) with the ear flaps and the dangling strings with pom poms. I would prefer no design/fair isle/intarsia, but can work that out as I read the pattern.

The latest craze and my nieces are asking for them! You all helped me with the jester hat, so I thought I would try "the source" again!

You would have to add the pom poms...but I have a number of earflap hat patterns on my blog:
