fiber trends crochet felt ballet slippers
I am totally confused has any one used this pattern. The instructions are confusing me for instanct begin in 2nd chain from hook and woking in the top loop only,sc-inc IN IN FIRST CHAIN , 12SC , 13 (17,21) HDC,5 HDC IN END CHAIN.FIRST CHAIN,

The pattern is for sizes 5-6 (7-8,9-10)

mY QUESTION AFTER CREATING A 28 STITCH CHAIN, i NEED IN 2ND CHAIN FROM HOOK WORKING IN TOP LOOP, SC-IN THEN DO 12 SC, WHAT DOES THE 13 MEAN?

ANOTHER ONE SC-INC 4SC,23(27,31) HDC, HDC-INC 2HDC HDCINC, 1 HDC HDC-INC 2 HDC HDC-INC , 23(27,31) HDC, 4 SC,SC-INC. JOIN WITH SL-ST CH-1 TURN (71,79 87

Um, I crochet and this is confusing to me too. I think I would have to see the whole pattern to try and figure it out. I don't know why in the world some patterns are written like this. I guess to the writer, who knows what he/she's doing, it makes sense. If all else fails, I would contact FT for clarification.

You are going to ch 28, in the second ch you will sc 1, then do 12 more sc in the next 12 chains, then do 13 hdcs for size 5-6, (17 hdc for the next size up), etc in the next 13 chains, then do 5 hdcs in the last of the 28 chains. The brackets show changes in number of stitches according to the size. So the first number within the brackets is for size 7-8 and the second number in the brackets is for size 9-10. Most patterns do this if there are different sizes to make.

sc-inc means increase (making 2 sc stitches in one space) same with hdc-inc (two half double crochet stitches in one space) the numbers in parentheses are how many stitches you should have at the end for each size.

to join with a slip stitch is to join that row into a circle with a slip stitch. then turn the work instead of working in a spiral.
