adorable colorwork knitted snowflake ornament
Look at what I did last night...
I used a snowflake chart from the pattern: Fireside stocking in the Interweave Knit's 2007 Holiday Gifts issue. *That my swap partner marykz sent me.. :D

Yarn used: Scrap acrylic yarn and some very thin acrylic fuzzy yarn.. (wish I'd had enough to double it).. I actually had some red fabric w/ snowflakes that look almost the same and I used it for the backing. (I'll try to take a photo of it and add it later- it really is cute.)

I think I'll buy some white thin sheer ribbon and use that instead of the matching cranberry ribbon.. what do you think? I think more of a 'contrast' instead of a perfect match might be better?

Very cute!! I think white would show up better but reds are my favorite color.

That's cute! Hmm, I'd probably go with silver, gold, or a shimmering green in keeping with the whole holiday color scheme of course.

Thanks all.. I'm going out shopping tomorrow- so, I'll see what I can find in 'ribbons.'
The cranberry ribbon is pretty in person- but, disappears.. so, it needs something more, I think.

Lovely! I do think a contrasting ribbon would pop more.

That's cute! I think I'd go with the white ribbon too.
