Well done mommydearest!

I'm still here. Trying and failing methinks but I think I'm doing well in controlling my portion sizes. I've got to get back on track with my water drinking today though. Oh and I must do more exercise

I have been absent in recent weeks from this KAL! :( I have allowed myself to slip out of my diet and to do whatever I want. Since I have had alot of stress lately, I really didn't even want to think about dieting.. But, I'm coming back to this challenge. I desperately need to lose some weight and to be committed to health. Please cross your fingers and send me good vibes today. The first couple of weeks is always the hardest.

Can I join in late? I'm new to this forum, so I'm just now finding stuff! BTW, what is UFO (I'm guessing Un-Finished something??).

Un-Finished Object, such as I am knitting a sock and I would post it here as a UFO because it is unfinished.

I'm in! I've been trying to lose weight recently; I've lost 5 pounds, and want to lose another 25. I never did lose the "baby weight" after my third child was born last year.

As far as I'm concerned everyone is welcome. I'm wishing everyone very good vibes. Once you get past the first 21 days it gets much easier to eat better and exercise. The most very important thing to remember is eat enough food and do cardio 3-5 days/week (or more). You don't want to not eat so your body goes into starvation mode and not lose weight. Strength exercises are very important too - these should be done 3x/wk ie Mon, Wed, Fri. This really works. Also make sure you are eating a lot of protein - it helps with the hunger. I don't eat much bread because occasionally if I eat one piece I will want more. I do use "Flat-out Wraps" that are 90 cal and high in protein and fiber and I have the occasional Pillsbury Dinner roll (reduced fat) with dinner at my mom's house.

These are things I've learned over the years but it is really helping me lose weight for good this time. This is the last time I will see myself this heavy.

I started Jan 1, 2008 with 110 lbs to lose and as of Feb 19 I've lost 20 lbs and 12". I feel great and I already look so much better. I have more energy during the day but since I wake up at 5:10 am, to get my dd up for high school, by 10pm I am ready for bed.

Good eating and exercising to everyone...

Mary

I would walk all day if I could knit and walk at the same time.

I might have to seriously attempt this one! Oh the weight I could loose and the socks I could have if I could walk and knit at once!

I haven't checked in lately, but still doing everything the way I should be (or at least I think so). No more weight lost.
I'm fairly desperate here. Been plugging away and no significant changes.
This monday the SO and I are seeing a nutritionist and a doctor to see what we're doing wrong. Also the nutritionist offers grocery shopping classes which I think is a nifty idea. And there are classes with a chef which I may check out.

Will report back after the session to let everyone know what I learned.
I'm almost finished with my diagonal rib sock, fixed my cable & lace scarf and made it back to where I was pre-frogging, am starting a beaded lace shawl this Saturday, am plying the purple wool this weekend and starting something new on the bobbin, and I think that's it....
