Here is a link to a decrease calculator. I have never used a calculator though. Nothing wrong with using one, but most of the decreasing I do is not very complicated.

I just want to say, don't fret too much over making it absolutely even, just try to have some all along the width of the piece, not all in one area. Absolute perfection is not necessary.

Basically, you would figure how many sts you need to decrease - 17 - and divide that by the larger number. 17/77=4.52 so you would alternate k2, k2tog with k3, k2tog.
