my first big project

I've embarked on my first big knitting project. I'm going to make a throw blanket for myself. It'll be a patchwork sort of blanket. I'm stitching various sized patches in different variegated yarns. Right now I'm just doing it in stockinette. I'm debating also trying different stitches or designs in different patches. But basically, I'm just going to knit until I have enough panels to make it as big as I want, then I'll bind the patches together. I've almost finished the first skein of yarn that I picked!

The kids are all asking me to make them blankets too...so I guess this will be the year of blankets LOL!
