Thinking about this too hard!

Ok so I am doing socks on circular needles class at my LYS. Of course its Sunday and they are closed for the day. I am on the heel flap and thought I knew how many rows I needed to do, but now I am second guessing myself.

The pattern says:
Row 1: Sl 1 as if to purl (k1.sl 1 as if too knit) repeat to end k1.
Row 2: Sl 1 as if to purl, purl across row, knit last stitch.
Row 3: Repeat Rows 1 and 2 each (10,14,17) more times.

Ok am I doing each row 17 more times or the total 2 rows 17 times. A total of 18 times or 36?

You will do row 1 and row 2 17 times for a total of 34 rows not including the first 2 rows.

So I guess the answer you are looking for is you will have a total of 36 rows.

I agree. I always think of Row 1 and Row 2 as a "set"; complete the "set" 17 times.
