Circular knitting single twist

Hi there,

I am trying to make a moebius capelet in garter stitch without a pattern. It looks simple but I am having trouble getting a single twist on my circular needle. If I flip a stitch and then right it to line up my needles I end up with two twists. But I can't work an upside down stitch on an end as my needle will just right it anyway, correct? I can't
