If there are any swine left after the flu you could use their droppings to generate fuel. This method is used is many developing countries. Maybe if we used it more we could help force prices down.

There is a dairy farm on the way to work that has a pond for the cow droppings. During the summer it can get very ripe. If he would cap it I think he could heat half the county.

Chris, thanks for the info on the apples...He got some tonight but not all of them...ok this might be a dumb question but the seeds you mean cut one open and send them to ya? I can do that no problem...that is the only seed I can think of...I didn't know that about their droppings!

Julie, yeah we had it all planned out get our new home credit fill it up this winter and then next spring when we file our taxes just have them fill it up when we get the return and that way we would be set for next winter. We only need to fill it once 'cause we will use the wood burner when it gets colder. The house is holding the heat good though...if we have sunny days it feels good in here but lately we have had cloudy days... However where everyone is buying their first home and applying for amended taxes to get the refund the wait is crazy! I'm starting to think it would have been faster to wait and just filed it with our taxes in Feb. ...I forgot to answer your question earlier its the traveling bee spinning wheel...I want to get better at it just needed to get going with it..

Good news!
The seller is taking care of termite treatment using a friend of our who has a pest control company. In Texas, they say there are two kinds of houses: those who have termites and those that will. At least this way, the problem will be taken care of. Also, a couple of things on the inspection report are working. The inspector just didn't know how to make them work. So the seller is leaving us instructions. I'm relieved! If we had to find another house, we'd be way too short on time.

Julie, We get in on the 9th in the morning. Can we meet somewhere around Albuquerque? YAY on the good grades!

Dustina, qotd: I'm kind of like Julie...not really fond of the whole idea, but we used to carve pumpkins and the kids would trick or treat. We don't decorate. I think it's fun to give out candy and meet the neighbors. Like you, my fave snacks are pumpkin! YUM! Your apples sound yummy! you'll have to save some for yourself!

Chris, your fuel idea is a good one!

DD has been a huge help today. We sorted and packed the game room, two closets and some of her bedroom.

Using Masculine Bovine Deification as a source, a cap put over the US Capital Area would make the cost of heating gas a negative number just to get rid of the excess gas.

Gina I'd love to meet with you! Dh said Glorietta is probably 1.5 hours outside of Albq. Glad your home inspection is better than you thought at first. You're kicking butt packing the house.

Dustina I'd looked at that wheel that you have, just wasn't able to try it before I bought it. I went to the LYS and tried the schacht ladybug, the kromski sonata & another Kromski, the Joy and something else, can't remember. I didn't care for the kromskis and the ladybug was gonna be my choice till I tried it and it has a funny 'click' that you feel with your feet as you treadle, after I tried the Joy the compitition was over, that wheel is awesome!

Think we might get some pumpkins today, we'll see.

3/4 kilt
It has been rainy and cold here this week end. I've been working on the kilt and have about 3/4th of it finished. I hope to have it finished by this coming weekend so I can wear it to the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival. Only a few row of knitting, many rows of sewing.

I hope to see pictures of it when it's done!

Today was Mom/Grandma's bday celebration dinner. Really quiet and simple, steak, baked potato and tomato salad & fresh veggies. Grandma loved her dishcloth and Mom loved her socks. And I made our favorite cake, devils food with white fluffy icing & it turned out fantastic too. But it's only 6:30 here now and I feel like it's closer to 8, long day.
Hope y'all have a great Monday!
My wheel should arrive on Tuesday.

Julie if you sleep through Monday, Tuesday will come faster. I least that is what I used to try to do for Christmas, many, many, many years ago.

Happy Monday, Socksters,
It's WAY too early to be up--4:10, but I've been awake for over an hour, so I might as well be productive...or at least chat with y'all! I've been researching flooring options.
DD leaves today and we hope to do some organizing in the garage. We need to seriously downsize what we have in there as we're going from a 3-stall garage with a 10-foot extension and open rafters that we store stuff on to a 2-stall garage with no storage space whatsoever. I'm SO glad DD is helping! It might be more accurate to say I'm helping her. She's the best organizer! We nearly have the upstairs bedrooms packed! I'm sure things will slow down considerably without her here.

Chris, you crack me up. There certainly is enough hot air there! YAY on being so far on the kilt! Can't wait to see the FO!

Julie, we fly into Albuquerque late Sunday night and don't need to be in Glorietta until noon on Monday, so maybe Monday morning the 9th we could meet up? YAY on your wheel coming tomorrow! Better get your chores and studying done today!

We haven't heard from a lot of you in awhile. Hope your lives are going well. Drop a line in here once in awhile. We miss you!

Morning!

Gina~You are up way early! Hopefully you'll be able to sleep once all the house things settle down. YAY for DD being a big help. I helped my DD pack when she moved into her own apartment, I can't imagine packing up my whole house! What huge job!

Julie~ For the new wheel!! Today will be a long day waiting for it. How fun to meet up with Gina!

Dustina~Never heard of black apples either. I'm not big on Halloween either. DH loves to hand out candy, but now all the kids in our area are grown, so we don't get any coming to the house. When the kids were little we would get together with friends and do a hayride around the roads here while they tick or treated. Friends had a big snowmobile trailer and we would put bales of hay on it and pull it from house to house. It was fun, although usually pretty cold.

Chris~Can't wait to see the kilt!

Christine~Hope you're feeling better every day!!

Hi eveyrone!! This was the first weekend were we didn't have anything planned. It was nice just to do whatever. Cleaned Saturday then went shopping and lunch with DD. I'm looking for some warmer boots for this winter. Mine are old and didn't keep my feet that warm last year. Didn't really find what I was looking for. Lots of fashion boots and Uggs, which are crazy expensive! Yesterday DH raced, then we went out to dinner with friends. Now it's back to work today.

Hope you all have a great day!! Check back in later.....
