Tangle: Great job! At least you don't have SSS. They each look well made. Congrats on your first ever pair of knitted socks!

Yes I looked at the other yarns on the site-but the way I see it, I got 4 and so that's one from Dh and one from each of the kids-I will make Dh wrap them up with the kids help~it should be interesting. I'm looking forward to the stories.

I wanna see your socks! please post pictures!!! (everyone)

I'm halfway through my second Sherman heel (I still think the wraped sts are easier). If ms Bailey had taken a nap like the other 2 I would be done with the heel and onto the rest of the sock...She stayed quiet in her room for 1.5hours though. Then I let her out. Guess she wasn't tired b/c she's been fine since. Who knows-
ok so is it beer 30 yet? or wine 30 or something?!

Congrats to all of you who are starting with the lessons and branching out on your own.........that's the coolest thing I learned after a couple of socks...........there are a few basics, and then after that the world's your..............SOCK?

Dustina, those yarns are so gorgeous........very subtly colored........I loved the pale purple one, too, called Spring Tickle, I think,........and Some Summer Shower? Ahhhhhhhh !!!!!

Top of the Mornin' to y'all
Dustina I think you could use that green and it'd look great done up as the ironworks sock!

Lieke that is beautiful! Do you have a finished photo from the pattern to share? I'd love to see where you are in the scheme of things.

I only have my leg pattern repeat to do & the cuff I hope to finish today!

Hi all:

Dustinac: love the mint colour.

Lieke: That is really a great job, what an intricate pattern. Congrats on a wonderful job!

Dotty: C'mon, get casting on those socks Hon!

jberry: Way to go! Is this your first or second sock? We want pictures!!!

Tangle: Get at that second sock hon. The child's other foot is getting cold!

Knitgal: How are those pretty pink sox coming along? Good luck at that funeral Hon. Be safe driving tomorrow, it's supposed to storm tonight!

I am four inches into the foot of sock #1, my "mexican coloured socks". I'm not so sure I like this Cascade Fixation after all. It is easy enough to knit with but the finished material is course and no matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of the laddering. When you snug up your stitches, you can't "snug" good enough because of the elastic in the yarn. Silver tells me the laddering will go away when I wash them the first time, so I hope she's right because if not this will drive me nuts. At $8.00 a ball for this yarn I want the socks to look nice and feel nice. Oh well, live and learn! Next time I am going to buy some Moda Dea Sassy Stripes. The store that carries it (Herrschners) is only an hour from here by car (yes I found it in Canada!!) so no shipping costs for this girl. I'll look and see what else they have while I am there.

It turns out it's just down the street about five minutes from my DD's house, so the bonus is that I get to visit my grandchildren AND have yarn porn all in one day!

Happy Sock Knitting!

The laddering does not show up on regular observation, because it is very stretchy material, but once it is stretched out (which it will be on my leg) it shows a bit. As I said, I know it's there so it will bother me if it does not wash out. Only time will tell now....
