In fact, it's not allowed! How odd is that?!?
That is so strange! And sad...I don't think I would do well even working there, let alone being one of the kids!

Julie (I think that was who asked, if not sorry!) - The name of the place is Branching Oaks, it's just a little daycare owned by a mother and daughter. It's probably the cutest place in town, and was where I was really really trying to get a job when I was putting in all my apps, so I'm really anxious to hear from them today!

In more sock related news, I'm still waiting for my KP order, I really hope it gets here soon. My experiment in color changes sock has sort of gone untouched for a while because of housecleaning and reading efforts. I did read this AMAZING book that I'd reccomend to any Christian, or any person with questions about God. It's called Blue Like Jazz, by Donald Miller. I couldn't put it down!

Bobbi I'm waiting on a kp order too, when did you order yours?
I placed my order 7-15 & it shipped 7-18...
(yes it was me that asked, I've worked daycares forever! @ 16 I was a nanny for a 6 week old baby & did that till they moved & he was 1, now he's 8-talk about being old! Then before I was pregnant with Jacob I worked at a kindercare, quit there the morning I had him, then when he was about 3 mo old I went to work for the Air Force base day care - best by far! & since then I've watched a baby at my home for about 6 months about a year ago.)

Sorry Gina I didn't explain it well. If you go to the page today you see the information above. The line :

071408/ 14-Jul-2008 16:45 -
will change each week or so. The last time I got a coupon that line read:

061608/ 06-Jun-2008 16:45 -
The date/month/year (061608) changes with each new coupon.
If you clink on the 071408 today it will take you to:

Next week if you were to go to this site, say on Wednesday (7/30/08) and a new coupon was available on Monday (7/28/08) the site would look like:

You would put your cursor on the 072808 and click - next to appear is a coupon.

Did this help?

Thanks, Chris, but I didn't see a coupon OR that date anywhere on the site. I wonder if it's a location thing? I'm usually pretty computer savy. NOt that I NEED a coupon or anything.....so don't worry about explaining it again!

Julie and Bobbi, I ordered from KP yesterday. I just ordered some Harmony tips and a needle sizer. I find their sizes don't quite work with my Boye sizer.

I think I finally decided on a stitch pattern for the middle of the Drops top I'm making. It's taken TONS of swatching to find one I can
a) do easily with Portuguese knitting and
b) works with this yarn.

I'd show pics, but I don't have a digital camera and DD's is with her and DH's batteries are dead. ETA: His CAMERA batteries are dead....he doesn't run on batteries!

Anyway, I'm using a mock cable right stitch (July 23 in the 365 knitting stitches a year calendar).

If you look at the whorl, especially if you look at the one giving assembly instructions, you can see the whorl is a drawer pull that you can get at any lumber yard.

I GOT THE JOB!! I start training tomorrow! After almost 2 months of looking, and then finally just giving up, I officially have a job! Can I get a and a !

Haha, sorry, I'm a little excited if you couldn't tell.

I put in my KP order on 7/14, and it shipped on 7/18. Apparently it was in Minnesota yesterday...Hmm...I guess I'll just have to keep being patient. I got all the books I ordered the other day, though so that was pretty exciting. Lots of good patterns, now just to get the yarn to make them all!

Bobbi & ! way to go girly!!! c'mon knitpicks! what age will you be 'teaching' can you knit during nap time?

Thanks Chris, what's the part that she's spinning with her foot?

Gina that will be really pretty! What color, I forgot.

I'm done with the sleeves!!!!!! now I just need to figure out, do I knit the button band and then the collar? or do the collar first? I'm thinking the button band and then pu sts from the edge of that to make the collar waiting on a few returned msgs from ravelry-ers (can I make up that word?).

& this is just too cute not to post, taken a couple days ago. That's her 'toy basket' she's pulling up on to get her toys out.

Guess I'll be taking baby socks to the PAP appt tomorrow, 'cause I'm not seaming a sweater in a doc's office, though it would probably bring about just as much if not more conversation - however I can't talk and think about seaming at the same time. Gonna have to wait till the kids & Dh go to bed.

Karina o where art thou Karina???

Bobbi, WHOOHOO!
Congratulations!

Julie, the yarn is "lipstick red". I like your drying rack. Where did you get it?

what a wonderful color! That will look really pretty on you, for some reason I had it in my head that it was a bright orange-musta dreamed it.

I got my sweater drying rack at Bed Bath & Beyond, $7.99! Cant beat that! & I had a 20% off cupon, so after tax it was $6.82 for cupons! Much cheaper than KP's 'blocking bord' @ $90 And I went to JoAnns fabric store & bought Rust Resistant pins to use, I think I have a box of 75 & it was $3, also had a cupon, Michaels cupons work at JoAnns and visa versa.
