Morning Socksters,
Hope you all are having a nice Monday.
Ann - I think sometimes the wedding couple gets so wrapped up in themselves that they don't consider the costs for everyone else too. Gather up all your receipts and wrap them or put them in a nice wedding card.
Lieke - Happy Belated Birthday!!
Jackie - Cute barbie clothes.
Dustina - You are such a doll. Love you mom's wheel.
I have more pink sock yarn than anything but my favorite color is purple.
Gina - Thats great that DH is knitting socks.
Lynn - great socks!
Carey - glad to see you staying busy with all the new projects.
It was nice to see that Dotty stopped by...hope she found Sockamania.
Here is one lonely converse bootie....very fast to knit up but oh man the ends!
I have officially been married 23 years to the same guy!
Sock on,

Thanks Carla and Carey
I had trouble getting a good picture of her wheel...the color of stain she got is so pretty...
I got some bad news today from a dear friend of mine...I know I've mentioned her she is the one who loves my dishrags and I was making the tea cozy for...her cancer is back they did a hysterectomy last year and hoped that would be enough. She is waiting to see if it has spread and then they will go from there on her treatments. They did tell her it would be chemo prolly and she would prolly lose her hair. She is a little firecracker and usually faces everything so strong but is having trouble with this...she is in her 70s and feels like she can't fight this battle very well...
I can't make a hat to fit anyone it seems they usually are to big or to small...I was just saying last night my goal for this winter was to do that...now I know who the hats will be for...with all my family in WV they have become like grandparents to us...when she found out my back was out she was here ready to help...was there when I had Roo...was there to help us move here...they have just always been there for us since we moved here and found them...I hope now I can be there for her...sorry to let it all out here but mom is at work and she prolly couldn't handle it if i called her upset and JD is at work too
As for the forum it is having it's hiccups today...Sheldon is working on it...be sure to copy your posts before you hit reply to save them

Dustina, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend! I hope you don't mind if I say a prayer for her. Don't ever apologize for 'letting it out here', that's what friends are for.
Carla, oh my, that converse bootie is so cute! Where did you get the pattern for that, or did you make it up? Happy Anniversary!

Thank you Carey, I don't mind at all!! I know when we were talking on the phone she said I bet when we hang up you go and pray...told her I already was...I have a lot of daily breads (get them in the mail) so I'm going to gather them up and take them to her one day this week when I'm out.

I have been having internet problems recently and was beginning to think it was my computer this morning when I couldn't get into KH.
Dustina: Sorry to hear about your friend.
Carla: The bootie is so cute
Knitgal: I am not going to the Knitters Fair this year. Would be too tempted and I don’t have much spare cash at the moment. The wedding sounds a bit over the top but they all do to me these days. It is a lot to expect of people.
Jackie: Cute Barbie clothes. I made a lot years ago and still have all the patterns.
Happy Knitting

Jackie: cute little doll clothing. My Mom used to make those for me when I was a child.
Gina: I am still trying to find out information for you on the pain spray.
Sue: I'll get you the information on this spray as well, it's good for arthritis and fibromyalgia.
Dustina: I will send healing thoughts in the direction of your friend.
Knitgal: Just think, one day that will be you and all the lessons you have learned from this wedding can be used with yours! Sorry you are having a rough time with the bride and groom.
Carla: Happy Anniversary. Really cute baby bootie! Great job!
Abbily: Are things going back to normal at work again?
Lisa: The vet called and said that if the dog had gotten any rad coolant into his system, he would have had kidney failure and died. He thinks this is an allergy. He is going to start him on a prescription diet called DD.
My friend came and picked up the lace baby dress and she loves it. She says she is sure that the new Mommy will love it as well. I am so happy!
Speaking of working, I start a part time JOB tomorrow. I will be "working" three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, taking care of a small baby boy. The good news is that I am allowed to bring my knitting with me! The money is VERY good and the hours are 8-3, so it won't even be a hard "job". I love babies!
Finally I will be able to help my DH out financially. I am sure he is going to be pleased about that! I might even have a bit of money for YARN!!!

Oh, Dustina, I'm so sorry that your friend is not well. We'll keep her in our . We don't mind you sharing on here at all, you know! That's what we're here for!
Thanks for letting us know what's up with KH. I couldn't get on for awhile yesterday.
Ann, the "shoe" is adorable!
Carey, can't wait to see the ruffled pants. What yarn are you using?
Karina, hope the cookies turn out! They're SO yummy! I usually leave a few in a container on the counter and freeze the rest, taking them out as we need them.
So I went to Tuesday Morning while I was out running errands today (since I'm not back at work yet ) and they had a set of four cro-hooks on circular cables! Since many people do Portuguese knitting using them, of course, I bought them! According to David Reidy (Sticks and String), they're also great for picking up stitches.
Also, here's a pic of the sock Mike finished! Not bad for his first try, eh?

Dustina, my girls and I will put your friend on our list.
Gina, I'm using the blue cotton fleece you sent me as the main color, and a pinkish/purple brown sheep serendipity tweed cotton yarn as the stripe. The ruffled skirt took one whole skein of the yarn you sent me, so I've got a few skeins left to play with.
