Morning All!

Christine~The pics are great! Glad the blankets were well received at the hospital. They are beautiful.

Lieke~The cardigan is beautiful. I love the color!

Jess~Congrats on the GRE's. My DD takes the LSAT tomorrow and is a nervous wreck!

Steve~Hope you DW heals soon. It's hard to stay resting when you're use to doing a lot. for mom learning to knit socks!

Hi to everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Still just trying to catch up at work and home since being gone last week. Just knitting on an oddball premie blanket at the moment.

Have a great weekend!

Gina, this is for you:

Chris, that's Alexander McCall Smith, one of my favorite authors, and also a real man- as evidenced by the fact that he was wearing a kilt! I don't think he knitted his own hose, though.

Steve, great to see you! That's good news about your mom- you'll have to let us know how she does! I got my mom back into knitting- she just ordered the harmony interchangeable circs and a bunch of yarn from knitpicks.

Lieke, wow, that cardi is beautiful! Great job!

Dustina, what's AR testing? Hope it goes well, whatever it is.

Lisa, good morning!

Well, I had a wonderful time last night listening to Alexander McCall Smith's talk. He's absolutely hilarious, and very nice too. However, by the time we finally got through the book signing line, it was after 10... by the time I got home, got the kids' stuff ready for school today and got into bed it was 11:30... and I'm exhausted. It was definitely worth it, though!

Tonight we're going to the home of another mommy from the mommy group I lead at church, so that should be fun. Maybe I'll even sneak in some knitting time- I'm finally ready to start the body of the ruffled pants, and I'm hoping to join the two legs and do the body in the round, rather than separately. It won't save me a huge amount of seaming, but every little bit helps.

Good Morning Socksters!!

Jess~ Congrats!!

Gina~That's great that dd is coming home today, enjoy your time together

Karina~I kinda wonder about that with Roo if I would get a wheel ...I hope you can take classes after Christmas...that KAL sounds like fun is it to late to do it? I wouldn't know any of answers if it's on the Da Vinci code though

Bobbi~I knew it would take you no time...can't wait to see it

Sue~I hope your feeling better

Steve~I hope your wife feels better soon...That's great that your mom is taking up sock knitting ...hope you have time soon to work on your socks!

Carey~That's a great photo!! It's Accelerated Reader...each day the kids have to read a book and then the next day they are tested on the book...they have mom come in and call them back to the computers, help with words, grade them, and all that...This was my first time though and the teacher was absent and no one knew what program to go into it was a mess at first.

Lisa~I know what you mean when I go home it seems to take awhile to get everything back in order

Hi Chris, Ann, Julie, Jackie, Carla, Mary, Dotty, Lady Violet, and everyone!

Today's goal is to work on laundry and find Roo's room...and then tomorrow is work on more laundry and find Isaiah's room . Roo woke up really stuffy today so she is just laying around... I get my fair items back today too

I hope you all have a great weekend of knitting

Dustina, I wondered if that's what it was- we have that at our school too, though it's 'extra curricular' here. It's not an in-class requirement, just something the kids can do if they want to. They get points for each test and they can 'buy' things from the AR store with their points. If they get 300 points in a school year, they get to make morning announcements once!

Oh how I wish it wasn't a requirement ...it counts for so much of their reading grade...it's hard to fit in a book every night and now Isaiah is on chapter books...we do have 2 nights with that but still it can get crazy here...they do get points as well cause he gets to draw from the AR box once a month I think...

Carey - it is great that you had a good time at the book signing. Have fun tonight with the other mums.

Dustina - no it is not to late. it started on the 1st and the riddles and patterns will disappear on the 15th Oct. some of the riddles is about Leonardo da vinci but not all. one is about Harry Potter which I had no clue since I am not that interested in that book. watched the first film but thought it was a bit infantile even from a child's perspective. Felt like they just slapped it together and said that will do. So never bothered with the rest.

Karina~I read over the clues and was lost from clue 1 so just backed out slowly

Carla~I would love to go to that

I heard from KP today they are going to send me out a new size 0 needle...and I can throw that one away...

I got my fair items today and they forgot to pay me for my shawl/stole...JD doesn't think I should rock the boat since I kinda did on the categories thing...figures I should just sit back and let it be since I want to enter next year...he said he would give me the 5 dollars
