Chris, hope you're friends with those neighbors with the boat!

Dustina, Congrats on the soccer goal! What fun! Roo will find her interests. Good luck on the house hunting. You'll find something, but looking is hard! Here's the pie recipe. It's really yummy. Fresh and creamy. It's based on the Marie Calendar's pie.

Sour Cream Lemon Pie

8” pie shell
6 tbsp. cornstarch
3 ¾ tbsp. water
1 ⅛ c. sugar
1 ½ c. water
2 ⅛ tbsp. butter
10 tbsp. lemon juice
3 egg yolks
2 tbsp. + 2 tsp. milk
1 ⅛ c. sour cream
1 pt. whipping cream, whipped

Dissolve cornstarch and 3 ¾ tbsp. water. Cook sugar, 1 ⅛ c. water, and butter over low heat or in microwave until sugar dissolves. Add cornstarch mixture and cook until clear (about 8 minutes on the stove, 1-2 min. in microwave); stirring occasionally. Add lemon juice and cook for 2 minutes on stove, 30 sec. in microwave. Mix the yolks and the milk; Add some of the hot mixture to the egg mixture to temper them and then add that to the rest of the hot ingredients. Cook over low heat or microwave until mixture boils, stirring occasionally. Cool. Pour ½ this mixture into baked pie shell and refrigerate. Add sour cream to the other half of the mixture. When refrigerated half is set, spread sour cream mixture over top. Refrigerate. Top with whipped cream.

Haven't heard from many of you for a while! Hope all is well! Keep in touch! We miss you!

OMG did I ever have a lot to catch up on. I think I have all the right responses. Let`s try...

Julie: Oops on the MIL to be making awful dresses. Can it be fixed? P.S. I like your hair straight much better than curly. Just my humble opinion. Good luck with the hemlock. Yes, I am still alive (just barely)! Read below for information on my week last week.

Dustina: Thanks for keeping on saying hello to me. I haven`t been on the computer much lately, but will be better about it this week. Read below for information on my week last week.

Lieke: That person is a real sicko.... I can`t even imagine what kind of person would do that. Good luck with your job interview.

Jess: Zombies??? Sounds like a ummmm..... fun class.

Gina: DGD went home a week ago. That pie sounds sooooooooo good! Read below for information on my week last week.

Chris: You are so funny!

Hi to everyone else!

THIS IS BELOW! I`ve been doing spring cleaning and getting ready for the new bedroom suite to come. It arrived Saturday. Thursday I emptied the bedroom. Friday I vacuumed and rug shampooed the rug and wiped down all the baseboards and walls. Saturday I spent putting everything back together in the new furniture. I went to hook the PVR box back up and it was not working so I had to go get another one and return the broken one. Also I got a new clothes hamper but it was too big for the spot I needed it to go, so I had to return it and get another one that would fit. Also I had to go and get some runners for the tops of the new dressers so they did not get scratched. One of them has the PVR box and a 13 inch TV on top. They are both high boy dressers that are five foot tall with 6 drawers in each. Then there is a new headboard and two new nightstands.

That is all the good news.... however, there was a downside to getting the new bedroom set. DH worked 14 hours on Thursday so I ended up emptying the bedroom myself. 9 pieces of furniture had to be moved from the bedroom into the kitchen and IT GOT DONE! I now have a herniated disk in my lower back. I guess you could say I got done too! NO, do not give me heck! I had no choice. The Salvation Army was coming on Friday morning at 8:30 to pick up the old set. It HAD to be moved and I was the only one who could do it. It`s all done now and my bedroom looks wonderful and I have really nice drugs and life is FINE!!!!!

Perhaps menopause has weakened my bones or something because I get hurt really easily and I never used to!

Christine: one word, osteoporosis. & Thanks I like straight hair better too; I think God knew what he was doing when he created me with straight hair

Not much going on here; I'm super tired from rushing this am while Jacob was at school to return a booster seat to walmart, do some quick grocery shopping & then come home and sweep, vacuum & clean up the kitchen all before going to get him. THen comming home and having his buddy and his mom & sis follow us home for lunch and a play date. I thought my kids didn't behave very well; this is another story. they're pretty good kids, just dont listen very well. And mama's not very tough on them either & think they're scared of me. But now I've got the kdis down for a nap & as much as I'd like to knit on my hemlock ring (now to something like 248 sts, co 8 to start & it's still on DPN, I really need to move it to ML on my long circ.) I really need to rest.

hmmm... we had that rain last week.
Saturday I went to my "other brother"'s baseball game (he's my brother's best friend). It's been cold/rainy the last several times mom and dad went down, so mom was fully prepared with a coat. Which she wore through the first three hours or so... while I burned. The good thing is, its my arms and not my back - my arms will go tan, my back just peels and goes back to white so it can burn again. The games weren't all that fun - Jeff only got to bat during the first game, and not even that the second - but my friend Mari goes to school there so we met up and this summer she's going to get her diving certification and then go to Australia! so I'll have a dive buddy at the end of the summer. Also, dinner was delicious (Fajita taco salad. Whoever came up with that idea was clearly an evil genius).

Hope everyone is doing well!

Has your school been closed because of H1N1 virus?
Well.

Nope. No swine flu here. Our school will stay open even though there no one can make it. No one has gotten it YET. Let's hope. The teachers are now requiring the students to wash their hands as soon as they put their books down in the room. So, lots of hand washing action. Let's keep it that way. Anyways, graduation is soon, so no one wants the school to close.

Little sister is sick at home. She's totally miserable, and I said, "Why don't you pick up your needles and KNIT?", because she knows how. She just looked at me funny.

I'm super busy, since I'm going to be done with school in 9 days. Fine by me, except for the extra scrambling around. I'm going to miss a lot, because I missed a lot in one day, so in 2 weeks, I could be WAY behind.

Socks have been on the needles lately. I finished a pair for my graduating friend and gave them to him this morning. He LOVED them and wore them all day. I casted on a pair for one of my best friends. (3 other pairs for my other best friends will go on soon! ) I frogged the toe 3 times, before I decided not to anymore, and just settled for fudging to get the right amount of stitches. I NEVER told y'all this. I hope to get some more knitting in on the multiple planes in the next few months. Happy knitting!

Christine, I'm SO glad to hear from you, but not so glad that you're in pain! I'd give you a lecture about it, but I know you already gave it to yourself, right?! How nice to have new furniture! Is your neck still bothering you, or has it calmed down now that your back hurts?

Julie, you're one busy mama!

Jess, SUNSCREEN! Even if you just peel and then tan, you need to take care of your skin! DH and I have both had skin cancer caused by sunburns when we were younger. Be careful, my friend!

Rosalie, good luck in the last weeks of school!

Two schools (so far) in our district are closed b/c of swine flu.

I've had a good day. I weeded the garden this morning and then joined DH for lunch with some friends, tutored for an hour and have dinner in the crock pot. Unfortunately, tomorrow, I have to work.....I just hope it's not bad like last week.

Ann, I've been thinking about you!

Just a quick hello from me. I've been really busy lately. I've worked a lot and today I'm getting ready for my job-interview tomorrow. I've also got a lot of cleaning to do, but I don't feel like it and it's not like it's walking away anyway :P. Still haven't finished Montera, but I've got the ends woven in and the shoulderseams are seamed. Now I only have to seam in the sleeves and buy buttons (and sew them on) and them I'm ready to wear (but it's still to hot).

Sorry everyone, I feel like I have been hiding. I'm still here! I'm not really busy because I don't have a ton of hours at work, but I am just sort of feeling blah with Mother's Day coming up.

I have been distracting myself by knitting for Josh's cousin who is pregnant. I have never met her, but I have always wanted to knit baby things. So far I made the cutest little bootees and I started on some socks. I would show pictures, but for some reason my usb won't show up when I plug it in.

Hope you're all doing well- I've been reading and not posting, but I will get back to reading AND posting!
