I would like to learn how to knit gloves. Does anyone know of a video tutorial that shows how? Reading patterns doesn't click the "lightbulb" on, if you know what I mean. Maybe if I saw it done it would help.
Check out the blog Knitting in Color, she does lots of gloves and you will see some gloves in progress. A glove KAL will have lots of pictures too. What instructions in the pattern are confusing you?

I tried to google for some videos but came up empty handed...You might want to just cast on (if you haven't already) and give it a try...if you get stuck just ask
This isn't a video, but I thought the photos plus instructions in this glove pattern were very clear and easy to follow: http://sweaterscapes.com/glove-pattern.htm
I think I'm going to try them, except I don't want elbow-length gloves. I think I can figure out how to make them shorter.

Thanks, everyone, for the advice. I will probably just try it and ask all my "many" questions of all you folks when I get stuck (which WILL happen). Thanks as well for the sweaterscapes site.
A Glove is a tube (hand), interruped by some shaping, and a branching secondary tube, (thumb) topped by 4 tubes.(fingers)
the branching tube is not that much different that a branching sleeve (from a raglan sweater)
cast on for the tube.. (40 to 80 stitches/ depending on yarn/gauge)
knit in round.. increase a bit, then put some stitches on a holder (thumb) go back to knitting a tube..
divide the tube UNEVENLY into 4 parts.
knit each part, (you'll need to cast on 2 to 4 stitches) in a tube.
shape top of tube before casting off.
That's it. if you can knit a hat in the round, increase, decrease, cast on in the middle of a row, and use stitch holders (or waste yarn) you have all the skills you need.
if you don't know how to do some of those things, learn, and be on your way!
