Good morning! I'm back from a little time off (Semana Santa), we had a couple of days off from work and was away from any computers.
Here's my block. Not happy with it again, but, well, i don't want to redo.
Hope everybody is doing well. Do we know what to knit next?
Lisa_H-Town: I'm starting to write my blog in Spanish and English. We'll see how that works...

Hey Sig, your block looks great! I like the colors you put together

I'm open to suggestions for our next months block. I only just
realized the end of the month is coming...haha What would be
the most interesting to everyone...working with color or texture?

Color would be along the lines of intarsia motifs, stranded colorwork
or fair isle, mosaic or slip stitch knitting, and of course just basic
stripes

Texture would be cables, lace, knit/purl combinations....

What do y'all think?

My yarn finally arrived to start my March block... where the heck is the time going?!? I Hope it's enough! It was so tiny when I opened it!! But at least it's a brand I should be able to get at HobLob.... I am feeling a bit intimidated about starting this!

April pattern? Hmmm... seemed like the Entralic was a challenge, and maybe we need a nice simple "texture" to work on? (uh, ok, kinda selfish, as I am just starting my Entralic now, so will be working on both at the same time!)

Also, could I ask a special favor for one of our blocks (further down the road)? It is a dishcloth pattern in illusion knitting, but it is the "breast cancer awareness" symbol... I think we could convert to one of our blocks, with some extra outlying stitches... if everyone is agreeable?? I will find the pattern to post a link when/if we decide so... Just let me know.

Sig --- Your block looks great -- what don't you like? And I look forward to your blog in English! Your posts are amazingly accurate so sure you will do fine! I envy bi-lingual people... my husband speaks Spanish... but I have never learned! I have a friend from Costa Rica and I love listening to him talk, but I play with him sometimes! It's only in fun, cuz I love him, and would rather point out the correct way from me, than someone else think he doesn't know... He is incredibly smart, but the language thing can cause undo opinions!

So -- am I the only one not done (ok, started) with my March Square??

I haven't started mine yet either. I'm trying to finish some other projects before I start mine.

Hello! I think the illusion block would be fun. I had never done that before!
The problem I have with my entrelac block is the colors, too bright!
As for our next block, don't know, probably something simple. The entrelac block was fun, problem with gauge!! Hope next one comes along better.
Lisa_H-Town: I now what you are talking about! I remember when i went to school in the USA and we laugh so much with my language barriers! I'm trying to keep my level of English, since i came back to spain i don't have anyone to practice. So it would be good for me to write my blog on both languages.
Off to get some coffee!

Sig I love your block, I still have not had a chance to start mine. My oldest daughter birthday is next week, she will be 13 so it is a big deal and she is very excited. All project are on hold until I have finished a couple of heart shaped hot water bottle covers for her.

Sig your block is gorgeous.

Sig! I love your block!

I started my block, but I am not done at all. I don't really like it, but I think I'll keep going and just make another one for the swap

I favor a textured block next. I would love to learn how to do a cable but with my entrelac problems maybe it would be better to learn a lace pattern But who knows, if there's a good tutorial I just may surprise myself and torture (ahem) I mean challenge myself a bit more I'm just kidding of course. I've loved every bit of learning entrelac . . . even the frustrating parts

Ok, so I'm thinking that the next month's block could be just a simple
knit/purl combo of your choice. That way those who are still working
on the entrelac block...this means YOU ....can finish up and get
the April block done without the stress of learning something new. Might be a good idea to alternate easy blocks with more complicated blocks so no one feels they are left behind or gets overwhelmed trying to figure out too many new things at once!

I checked when Breast Cancer Awareness month is because I
thought that would be an appropriate month to have that block but it
is not until October so we can either save the illusion knitting until
then or just go ahead and do it whenever we feel! I like the idea of
doing it though

I'll dig out some links for sites with some nice "stitchionaries" to
help with ideas. I think even a ribbed block would look nice if you
wanted to keep it simple.... Hmmm...I'm beginning to wonder if
12 month's will be long enough to cover all the different techniques out there haha....

I like the idea of a textured block, It may be simple but it is very effective. even just a simple Moss stitch looks brilliant and that is just a simple k1 p1 alternating the stitch.
