question about cuffs
The instruction reads:
Cuffs
with RS facing, larger needles and A, pick up and knit 18 sts evenly along cast on edge of Sleeve. Beg with a purl row, work 3 rows in stocking st.

Next row: k2. sl1.k1.psso. knit to last 4 sts. k2tog. k2. 16 sts.
Work 2 rows even.

Next row: (WS). knit (fold line).
Work 2 rows even.

Next row: (RS). k2.m1. knit to last 2 sts. m1. k2. 18 sts.
Work 3 rows even. cast off loosely.

I have trouble understanding these instructions:
"Beg with a purl row, work 3 rows in stocking st."
"Work 2 rows even"
"Work 3 rows even"

ok, I pick up 18 sts, beg with a purl row(let's call it
1st row), then
Row 2: knit.
Row 3: purl.

Row 4: k2. sl1.k1.psso. knit to last 4 sts. k2tog. k2. 16 sts.
Row 5:knit. ??? (What kind of instruction should I follow?)
Row 6: purl???

Row 7(WS):knit(fold line).
Row 8 purl???
Row 9 knit???

Row 10(RS):k2.m1. knit to last 2 sts. m1. k2. 18 sts.
Row 11url???
Row 12 knit???
Row 13 purl???

I'm lost here. pls help! thank you!

I guess it's the `work X rows even' part you don't understand. That follows a dec or inc row and it means for X rows you don't inc or dec, just knit in pattern.

Rows 5 and 6 knit in St st with no decs, 5 is purl, 6 is knit. 7 is knit on the WS, 8 is knit, 9 is purl. 10 is an increase row and then you work the next 3 rows in stockinette. Just follow along row by row when you get to it and it will make sense.
