Dealing with large size knitting needles.

I have a pair of 10 mm size knitting needles and really want to use it. But the problem is that it's so big in size that it's hard to knit it properly because it seems to strech my knitting piece out.

Does anyone have any tricks to deal with large size knitting needles?
Besides saying "use smaller sizes instead?"...hehehe

K, I won't say use smaller needles, I'll say use BIGGER yarn
What are you knitting anyway? Are you using circulars or straights? Because if you are using circs and it's stretching out it's not because of the needle size it's the cable size (length that is). What size of yarn are you using? Those all are important questions to ask for us to find a solution.

LOL....I was not expecting you to suggest use BIGGER yarn!!! That's a good one!
Umm...I'm using the Red Heart Comfort Knitting Worsted type of yarn, I bought 6 balls (in different colors). They are 10 mm straight needles. And it doesn't matter which project it is, scarves and hats. I've never used any size larger than 5.5mm so, I really want to use them.

If that's a worsted weight, you could use the yarn doubled.

I could, but the yarn's in a large ball...how could I double it??? I mean I won't know how much I will need, in terms of lenght if I were to double it.

Unless you can free both ends of the yarn and knit with them...

Do you have more than one ball of it? If not, undo the outside end and unwind some, wind another ball if you want while leaving it attached to the first one. When they look about the same size, put them both in a baggie and start knitting with the ends. Don't cut until you've made what you want.

no I only have one color for each large ball of yarn that I bought.
