I am an aspiring writer. I have always loved writing and have been writing since I was a child, whether it be poetry or short stories. I recently completed an at home creative writing course, and, have even more recently set up a "writing area" in my house to help keep me focused on writing. Needless to say, since setting up my "writing room" I've had a tremendous urge to once again write.

I've tossed about probably hundreds of ideas but I can never really seem to develop them, or, become passionate enough about them to even attempt to develop them. However, I did think of something yesterday, while walking up to the school to pick up my daughter.

I thought it would be interesting to write about an older generation, but being only 30, I obviously don't have the knowledge or experiences of someone older. I haven't witnessed the changes the older generations have nor do I face the same hurdles, know what it's like to be a grandparent, what it's like to lose a spouse, face the same possible health problems, etc.

Of course, in writing a book, there needs to be "danger," there needs to be an antagonist, the main character must face opposition repeatedly in trying to achieve their goal/s.

If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to hear of your experiences, any problems you face, your fears, what makes you happy, any personality quirks, etc.

In asking for your experiences, I'm hoping to get an idea of the things we face as we continue to mature and try to incorporate that into a compelling book.

I also ask permission to print your responses and use them as a reference should I decide to pursue this idea, and, possibly use, in writing, the information you have supplied. Of course, if I should decide (with permission) to use any information, there will be absolutely no identifiable information in my story; you will remain anonymous.

If you decide to share, and grant permission for me to use your information, please include (clearly) in your post that you are giving me permission to use your information and that you will not hold me liable for any adversities that may occur from such information being supplied.

If you would like to share your experiences but wish to keep the information within this thread only, please indicate you DO NOT want your information printed or referenced.

Thank you all in advance!

Forgot to mention earlier, if you would like to share something, but would prefer PMing me, that's fine too!
