free, but only until november 20th
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...n-sisters-cowl

it's a nice cowl, and a nice idea behind it - the knitter/designer is offering it for free to celebrate her mom's birthday.

I think I finally grasped the underlying concept of Kitchener stitch and the sewn bind offs. If the stitch you are working is to be a purl, go into it knitwise and when it comes off the needle you go into it purlwise. If it is to be a knit, go into it purlwise and take it off knitwise. Armed with that knowledge I am going to try some mixed knits and purls in Kitchener. If it works, that cowl would be seamless.

I wonder how active I'll have to be in the KAL to get the finalized pattern. Thanks.

i wondered that too... most postings/replies? most vocal? best impersonation of a yarn swift? so many ways to choose the best and brightest...

i also wondered if maybe i should post these freebie patterns as an individual post, with replies for new stuff, instead of individual posts. thoughts - anyone? anyone? bueller??

That Libby Shawl is pretty. I hope saving to the Library is good enough w/o the d/l. I don't want to d/l all of them right now but I do want them.
