child poncho

hi, i did the pattern that called for 32 stitches across, then 16 inches long, then put together like an L, THEN FOLD UP LIKE a V, then sew that side, well i am struggling for days. Is anyone familiar with that pattern. Help please!! Joan

In the child poncho I made, I knit a rectangle and then attach the end to the side. You kind of have to loop it around.
This is a really bad sketch, but match the X's
