Cream Egg Chicks
They actually look more like ducks but I think my granddaughter will like them. The egg fits inside.

I LOVE those! Seriously- I think I need to make one. You've also made me hungry for a cream egg.

I found it online somewhere. It is very simple. I used Patons Astra

Using DK yarn and size 3.75mm needles cast on 26 stitches.
Work 8 rows in garter stitch
Increase a stitch at the beginning of next 6 rows (32 sts)
Cast off 10 st at beginning of following 2 rows (12 sts)
Work 8 rows garter st
Cut yarn leaving 12" -18", tread yarn through loops on needle and pull tight.

You can sew eyes and beak now or when seamed
Sew down head, across cast off sts and down to cast on sts).when it is seamed up place toy stuffing or a cotton wool ball in the head and insert egg in, you may need to work a couple of sts into cast on edge if the eggs are loose (depending on how tight you cast on)

There was no pattern for the beak. You can just stitch eyes and beak or I used thinner yarn, cast on 6 stitches, did 2 rows stocking stitch. Row 3 k2 tog at both ends
Row 4 P, Row 5 k2 tog at both ends, Row 6 p 2 together, draw yarn through loop. You may find something better
