dense stitch pattern
I need a dense stitch pattern. Seed stitch is too much purling. Also, I need it to be able to be knit in the round. Any ideas?

Hmmm... I can't think of anything off hand. Maybe you can find something here that will appeal to you. What are you planning on making?

It's a purse made out of ribbon yarn. I want the walls to stand up by themselves and I don't want to line it.

Oh, wow, yes I see you will need a very dense stitch pattern! Here is something, although maybe too much purl stitch

Or this one, says it is good for purses, but I am not sure how it would work with ribbon.

Be sure to post a pic when you are done, I would love to see it!

One thing you can do is stockinette on much smaller needles. I made a small bag from Lion Chenille Thick and Quick on size 8s. That came out pretty dense.

http://www.knittingonthenet.com/stitches.htm Here are a lot of stitches to look at.

I was thinking a tight cable like this http://www.knittingonthenet.com/stit...avelattice.htm might work - but not sure how a cable will look with ribbon yarn.
