Seeking easy baby blanket patterns
Hola,

I want to knit a blanket for our admin assistant who is due in July. I'm comfortable with the knit stitch and could probably do purling with a bit more practice.

Anyone have good patterns to share or recommend? Online searching has given me everything from really difficult patterns to pay patterns.

I'm still new to pattern-ese and understanding the lingo so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

The simplest one is probably the one adapted from the Grandma's Favorite Dishcloth pattern.

Done in any soft yarn it's really pretty and it's all knit stitch on the diagonal with increases done in YO (yarn over) so you get the eyelet edge. You just knit until it's the size you want (I prefer 36 in myself) then start the decrease half.

If it's a girl you can also run a ribbon through the eyelets.

Awesome, thanks Jan! She's having a boy... So I could do a blue or other color through eyelets.

This one is on the diagonal - probably similar to Jan's suggestion -
