Certainly! We will keep this KAL alive as long as someone wants to work on it! The CPH is fun!

No, you don't have to be a Ravelry member to join this KAL. Knitting Help and Ravelry are two separate entities. A lot of KH members enjoy using the Ravelry software to organize and showcase their knitting in one big notebook under their name...however, most of us KH-ers prefer KH for community interaction...like this KAL! And showing off your knits in Whatcha Knitting! KH is a small family (compared to Ravelry's millions)...and has a friendly, loving, helpful atmosphere!

So WELCOME ABOARD!

Remember, I will be gone (off the grid, with no internet access) from May 3-11. But, our other CPH-KAL gals will take good care of ya! When I get back, I will pop in ASAP...and see what yer all up to!

I swatched for GROVE last night...and made up my notebook for the BACK...and made copies of the cable charts...and CAST ON...and got two sections of the block pattern done before I was too to continue!

So I have a good project for my trip! I wont' come close to finishing it in a week...but I'm still gonna take a STANDBY project. You know how that is! How freaky to think of being in the wilderness, no way to get down off the mountain...and run out of knitting to do!

Artlady, I have to go find and review your posts about your notebook. I have one that I write down swatch information and keep my swatches in. I did swatches for my CPH and my daughter's Cardigan for Arwen (which we are making into a vest). I also learned a lesson about pre-wash and post-wash swatches and gauge - as my daughters increased in rows . Very good.

Blocking Question
Hi Everyone. I haven't been able to work on my DD CPH for a while. I've cleared some things and have picked it up again. OK, now the question or questions. My DD's CPH will fit her better I think if I don't block it. The blocking sizes will make it a bit too big. Do I have to block it? If I do need to block it, should I block the pieces before seaming?

I finished the ribbing on the back and one cable repeat. I'm loving this yarn and the knitting.

Block all your pieces, BACK, LEFT FRONT, RIGHT FRONT, SLEEVES before you seam.

Blocking doesn't enlarge the pieces. There are several methods, and the easiest method is to pin your pieces down to a blocking board and heavily mist them...and leave them til bone dry.

If you don't have a blocking board, and are hesitant to invest in one...you can use a seamstress' cutting board with clear plastic over the top of it. Page 4 Post #37 of this KAL has more information about that and where to get them.

Another knitter used the misting method, and it worked great for her.

Suzeeq, one of our MODS, has agreed to pop in and check for general questions someone may ask. She isn't too familiar with this pattern, but she said she would help out with general questions.

Thanks Sue!!!
