I try to end the cables at the top of the FRONTS (shoulders) several rows away from a cable twist so that the flat part of the stitches are joined at the shoulder seam.

Glad you like the design change Gina. It's so important to like what you are making, especially if it's for YOU!!!

GJ thanks for that HUGE post few days ago.
I've bought my fair share of WOTA and have yet to have a problems. I may just get the Cascade 220 or some other worsted weight yarn.

OK so there are now two Christine's on this KAL right now, so I guess everyone should just call me Knitter so we don't get confused as to who is being talked to in the posts.
I have almost finished the first repeat (2 rows to go) on the cables on the back of my CPH. I have to admit to being a little dissappointed so far. "What is wrong" you ask? Well, with the yarn I have chosen (and remember I have limited choices because I am allergic to wool) I chose a yarn called Ragg, which looks like a tweed when knit up. It is knitting up nicely, it is nice and cushy, and everything is going well except.... the cable does not show up as well as I thought it would, because of the twists of black and white in the yarn. Perhaps they will show up better once I have a bunch more done??? For now, they are not showing up really nicely. They show, they are just not as defined as I would like them to be. After a few more repeats of the pattern I will take a picture and show you what I mean.
However, having said that, this is an easy sweater to knit so far and I am really looking forward to having it to wear.
Bed jacket you ask? What bed jacket??? Oops......

Christine, I wasn't sure you had access to Ravelry...duh...should have read your sig! Oh well. I buy most of my yarn online--no LYS--so I check comments on Ravelry for yarn before I buy it.
Knitter, I'm sorry the yarn isn't showing the cables. They DO show up better after a few repeats, but if the yarn is too busy, it may want a different pattern.
I've finished about 8" of the fronts. I'm doing them both at once.
Artlady (do you have a real name we can use?)
Do you recommend short-rows for the shoulders? I really hate seaming stair-stepped shoulders.

I guess we have a popular name I also go by Mitchie if that helps keep things simple.

Sure! My name is Dollyce! Pronounced: Doll-eeees.
Knitter: I know what you mean about the yarn. Been there, done that. I made a Viking Knits pullover a few years ago, using Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed in eggplant color. I could hardly see the cables, but I still loved it! I'm sure your CPH will still be very nice!
Much better than my Viking Knits pullover on eggplant tweed!
And if that wasn't bad enough, I didn't seem to learn my lesson. Here is another Viking Knits on a charcoal tweed.
The cables show their texture, but not like they would on a solid field of color!

Dollyce: Your stitch definition on these is great. I think the cables show up nicely. I am going to keep going and hope for the best. I've been waiting almost a year to knit this sweater so I am not going to let anything stop me now!

Dollyce, your knits are BEAUTIFUL! My yarn is a dark tweed and I'm sure would show up better in a lighter, more solid color, but I think it will be okay.
Christine, I'd like to see pics of yours.
I have about 10.5" of the fronts done. NO time to knit at work today, though.
