I get it now - I must have been having a brain fort
I'm attempting my first double knit pattern and am using the one posted on KH advanced techniques page for the "Heart Double Knit Hot Pad". I don't understand why the chart only has 29 (58) blockswhen I cast on 30 (60) workable sts.
Thanks for helping!

The answer.... Duh, this IS indeed the edges, which I considered at first but was unable to wrap my brain around it because I kept reading the directions to say purl the last two stitches together rather then purl the last stitch with the two yarns! Oh my it's so simple!

Thanks for putting up with me.
