Waving hello from Napa! There used to be a group that met in the Sonoma area, but I'm not sure if they still do. There is a (rather dead) Yahoo group for NoCal knitters - you don't need to join to see when different splinter groups meet - it's on the home page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BitchnStitchNorthBay

The Napa group meets Weds nights at our lys, but I haven't been in a looong time. Keep meaning to, but I'm a homebody at night. What store do you consider your lys?

Downtown Sonoma!!!!??? Dang, I've got to get out more! I haven't been to the "new" quilt shop either, but I have plans to hit it when we do the Shop Hop in a few weeks. Maybe I can sneak in a quick visit to Bella then.

This must be the other one? http://www.sonomayarn.com/ It looks really close to the Sonoma Mission Inn.

I'm in Santa Rosa!
Hello Ladies,

I'm a knitter in Santa Rosa. I don't do a lot of social knitting, but it's always nice to hear about new yarn stores. My favorite is here in town.. Village Knitters, inside of the Village Sewing Center at Coddingtown Mall.

It's been a long time since anyone posted here, so we'll see what happens!

Good to meet you!

Invitation to Join a West Coast Project
Hello California Knitters!

I am spearheading the West Coast Oddball Baby Blanket project over in the Charity forum.

Please take a stroll over there and see if it's anything you would be interested in joining.

Don't worry if you're not into big commitments. This is the project for you!

The way it works is that each knitter knits 4" of a baby blanket, usually 90-100 stitches, using worsted or dk (depending on the blanket) weight, acrylic yarn. You can choose the pattern of your choice, keeping within the three stitch garter edging. Then, when you're done, you send the blanket to the next knitter, leaving the stitches on the needles. Everything travels together.

Each blanket takes about six knitters. You get two weeks to complete your portion. I've found it takes me only one evening...sometimes two.

If you'd like to join us, you can either send me a PM, or you can post a note in THIS thread. I'll watch for it, send you a request for more information, and then we're set to go.

Come join a worthwhile endeavor. You'll be blessed beyond your wildest imagination.

I look forward to hearing from you!
