First handspun (for real)
This is my first handspun, using Icelandic wool. It's somewhere between a bulky and a laceweight.

It takes time, you'll get it. Fun though, isn't it?

looks great. was thinking of getting one of those spinning things. My mind has gone completely blank can't for the life of me remember what they are called. Is it hard to learn? thought it would be cheaper to learn with one of those rather than a wheel.

Drop spindle is the name of that thing! I know how the mind blank thing goes! It was not difficult to me, but I *highly* recommend this book http://www.amazon.com/Start-Spinning.../dp/1596680652

It covers drop spindles and wheels and has great instructions and pictures and resources!

Dustinac, you could be ready to show your mom when summer gets here! Don't wait for her to show you! LOL
