Two socks on one circular

I was just in the states for a week, and came home with a book called "knitting 2 socks on one circular". I kinda skimmed through it on the plane, but I¨m wondering if it´ll work for socks, shouldn`t it work for sleeves worked in the round?

I have the body of a sweater done, and started a sleeve on dpn´s. but am hoping that I will be able to do the two on one circ - it may take me longer, but how happy would I be ( ) if both sleeves were done at the same time!!!!!!
