Worsted weight...? Baby Berry Hat...
Hi, I'm sure i've asked this before, but can I find it anywhere?!!

What's worsted weight yarn? I'm trying to knit the Baby Berry Hat, and was wondering if the yarn used is the same as what we call Double knit?

Also - has anyone knitted this hat for a toddler? I just cast on with 72 stitches and knitted a few rows, and then stopped, because it just didn't seem all that big...

I have knit this hat quite a few times, for babies and toddlers and it is SO beautiful. I've done it to look like tomatoes, eggplants, pumpkins, etc. I use 100% cotton such as Peaches and Creme or Jo-Ann's version of kitchen cotton.

My toddler hat was done with a size 8 needle. I always use the same pattern, but bigger needles and have no problems at all. My original pattern for this hat was not at the site you shared, but here: http://acechick.typepad.com/knitchic...erry_bean.html

Maybe that will help you more. Please, let me know if you have any other questions.

Here is a yarn weight table that makes it easier to understand because it's done by gauge.

Thanks for that link, and thank you for the comparison chart also...

I think it's time for a little experimentation with needle sizes and things!!
