I liked both the new patterns.

I really like the cardigan, but knitting a whole sweater with a laceweight yarn scares the tar out of me. Am I the only one?

It scares me too but looks wonderfull. Perhaps a pattern for the 'when i'm a little braver' pile. That goes double for the socks!!

Reading through the pattern, it looks like the sweater is made on 4mm needles and the border is done on 3.25 and the hem on 3.5mm. Aside from color changes I don't think it would take that long.

I was reading on Ravery that the yarn used was a heavier lace weight - more like a fingering weight. Makes me feel a little better about maybe attempting it!

5sts/in for a sweater isn't too bad. One of my most drool-generating sweater patterns is in a back issue of interweave and has a 7sts/in gauge Being a fluffy knitter, I'd be knitting for years and years.
I never caught the sock bug, so maybe I am biased.... but doesn't knitty have enough sock patterns??? Everytime there's a surprise sock, I'm like "siiiiiigh". Those are cute, but just doesn't make my tail wag I guess.
