Oat Couture Celtic Cardigan
I'm currently making the Oat Couture Celtic Cardigan. Is there anyone out there that has made this sweater?
I think there is a mistake in the sleeve directions but I can't find a correction listed. I'm doing size L.

I did make this sweater. I don't recall an error, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. It's been over a year. I'll pull out the pattern and see if I made any notes on it when I get a chance later today.

If you don't want to wait, post the problem here and someone probably can help you figure it out.

I just took a quick look and the only discrepancy I see is that they have you end with 130 stitches on the sleeves and that's not divisible by 3. Just end with an extra k stitch, or leave out one of the final increases and have 129 stitches.

Ingrid thank you ... I got so annoyed I frogged it last night and yes I got a little carried away so now I'll have to start over - LOL .... do you remember what kind of increase you used? I was doing a knit f and b increase. So I increased 2 stitches on row 4 as stated, which made 86 total stitches....But when I did row 5 it was one off, so I couldn't complete the k,k,p. 86 divided by 3 is = 28.66666 BTW I'm doing size Large.

I probably did a M1 increase one stitch in, but kfb will work, too. When you're doing sleeve increases, you're not always going to have the correct number of stitches to complete the pattern.

As you work the kkp, you won't always have a multiple of 3 since you increase twice. Just expand the pattern on the next row. So if you have
. . . .kkpkkpkkp, on the next row after the increases you'll have
. . .pkkpkkpkkpk and then
. . kpkkpkkpkkpkk etc.
It won't matter since the new stitches will look like they're coming out of the seam.

I sent an email to Oat Couture and they said there had not been any corrections to that pattern. This is my first sweater and I'm annoyed that the pattern didn't explain this point further. I think pattern makers make too many assumptions ... After fiddling with it last night I concluded that I might have to do what you suggested so it's good to have that confirmed. Thank you again.

It's true that many patterns assume that you know what you're doing. Unfortunately, there's always a first time for everyone.
