Changing colors in a pinwheel blanket

I know that the answer to this will be really obvious, but with my pregnancy brain, I just can't figure it out.

If you change colours in the pinwheel, where exactly should you do it? And do you get the dotted line where the colour has changed? (Can you tell I'm new at this? lol)

I love this blanket! I've knit several now. I always change the color at the beginning of the round. The color change doesn't leave a a noticeable line or anything from my experience. You can also use variegated yarn thereby eliminating all need to change colors.

The color change line will be on the purl side, so unless you're knitting it in garter, it won't show. If you do have garter rows, do the change in the stockinette rows.
