Cabled sock question. Am I doing it correctly?

I'm trying the Sweet socks pattern and this is my first time trying cables. I followed Amy's video, and I think I'm doing them correctly.

Here is the pattern:
Round 1: K16, P2, C4B, P2, K16, P2, C4B, P2, K16.

Ok, skipping the k16, I got that part, I then pearl 2, slip 4 of the stitches and put them in the back and then pearl the next 2 and then knit the cabled four stitches, is that correct?

you will K16, P2, slip two stitches to cable needle and hold in back, knit two, knit two from cable needle, then do the other P2

almost but not quite.
the C4F means that the cable is to be worked over 4 stitches in total; you are twisting those 4 stitches.
So as dustinac said, you slip 2 onto your cable needle, k2 then knit the 2 on your needle, then go on and do the rest of the row starting with the p2.

Thanks! I did two rows and figured it was wrong. So that is how the patterns reads. NOW it makes sense.

You guys are awesome. I'm going to print this out, tink out my rows and start again. I KNOW I can do this!
