Where do you buy your buttons?

Hi everyone. I'm finishing up my first project that requires buttons (talia from knitty) and I have no idea where to look for cute buttons so I'm looking for some ideas. Anyone have suggestions?

I find some at Joann fabric's. Also our new LYS has a great selection, a little pricey if you have lots of $$$ you need to spend

I don't live in a button rich area. Sometimes I find buttons at Joann Fabics, and I have also found a some at a locally owned quilt shop (actually I have found really nice buttons at another quilt shop I got to go to). I have even gotten buttons from Wal-Mart, but selection and quality are not the greatest.

I have also made finds at second hand stores. I found one once that had the left overs of buttons (brand new) from when a fabric shop closed down. I bought a whole bunch. And close to Knitting Guy's idea, I have looked at clothes at second hand stores for nice buttons, but I actually buy the item and then salvage the buttons. LOL Yard sales are another possibility, and the season is just starting here. :-)

My Joann's has a few but they never seem to have what I need at the time. My LYS has a few, and a quilt shop nearby has a great selection. Next time I need some buttons, I'm going to the quilt shop first!

I usually get buttons at Walmart. But then, I've never made a nice garment that needed buttons.

I get my buttons... at thrift shops and yard sales.

In other words, I collect buttons whenever I can and keep them in a big coffee can.

Then whenever I need some, I pour the whole thing out onto the table, sort through and choose just the right style, color and size - and scoop the rest back into the can.

there are some cool online shops for different buttons. I too got some cool ones at Joannes, but was in need of something.....cooler.

I get them at my sewing store, old clothes ready for the rag bag, my LYS and any that I find. I wondered where the buttons from my laundry went, lol lol.
AC Moore has a good supply of them.
