Don't Understand Directions
Making a Rocky N.Y. Yarns vest. I don't understand directions for finishing armholes. This is in three pcs, back, left and right side. Directions say to use a circular needle and "pick up 72 stitches along armhole edge". How do you pick up stitches when the piece your "picking up" has an edge that you were told to bind off? You are supposed to be adding bands on to the edge of the armhole to make it fall slightly off the shoulder. Help??

Even bound off there are still stitches there you can pick up.

Check out 'Picking up stitches' in the Knitting Tips vid section. Picking up sts on edges (bound off or otherwise) is very common.
