forming corners
I am knitting a take-out bag. I have finished the sides, and the next thing is to form the corners. The directions say to "...drop the first stitch down to the corner marker. With that corner stitch on a crochet hook, pickup 2 bars & pull throught stitch. Continue doing this until you reach the top..." Now won't that cause me to only have 10 stitches in the corner?

Any help is appreciated.

You drop the stitch, but pull it back up 2 bars at a time. This restores the stitch you dropped and makes the edges sturdier.

But doesn't that leave you short stitched? I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks

No, you drop the stitch and pick it back up, just as if you'd accidentally dropped one and picked it up again.

Do you mean 10 rows? Yes, it will decrease the number of ROWs at the corner, but also making that sturdier/less stretch.

And even though there's less rows, it won't be noticeable.
