combined method of knitting

Does anyone out there knit the combined method a la Annie Modesitt?? I have tried it today for the first time (only knitting and purling) My fabric looks nicer and it's easier on my sore arm. It looks like I have alot to learn if I will be a convert...lots of changes with increasing, decreasing etc. Any thoughts??? Patty

I THINK I do. I've had people call it about sixteen different names, so I don't try to give it a name any more. It seems a lot smoother and faster than anything else to me, even if you do have to readjust your thinking on some increases and decreases.

Thanks, Becky, for your reply. I, too, find it easier and faster to knit the combination way, but will have to rely on the internet and trial and error to figure how how to adjust the patterns, changes in increasing and decreasing etc., as Annie Modesitt's book is out of print.
