Some very dear friends of mine have requested a pink camouflage baby blanket for their much-anticipated baby girl. I would prefer not to use the Bernat Pink Camouflage (seen here) http://store.knitting-warehouse.com/339344.html
as it is a little um, more *vibrant* than I personally would prefer to stare at for the hours it will take me to knit a small blanket. (The picture there doesn't do it justice. It is *bright*!) I was mentioning this to a more knitting-savvy friend of mine, and she said that you can create pooling deliberately by knitting colored yarn "outside of the recommended gauge."
Is she right? And if so, how exactly would one do this?
They really, really
want camouflage, so they'll get it, no matter what, but... I'd prefer not to scald my retinas in the process.
Thanks in advance! B
